Wisdom brightens a person's face and changes its hard appearance. -Ecclesiatstes 8:1

My poor baby C has her first sickness this week. She’s been coughing and has that nasty chest rattle. We took her to the doctor who diagnosed her with an ear infection and gave us a prescription, but said it would probably get worse before it got better.

And the coughing has.

She starts hacking and all I want to be able to do is hold her and help her and I can’t. I wish I could cough all the phlegm up for her and get it out, but she has to do it. She has to learn to keep coughing until it goes away.

Don’t you think that is how God sees our sins sometimes?

Sin can be an infection in our lives. It can be something we can’t easily rid ourselves of and God wants to hold us and remove the sin Himself. But He knows He shouldn't because what good would it do if we didn’t learn how to rid ourselves of it? The infection would just come back. And it would probably come back with a stronger hold.

God can prescribe what we need to rid ourselves of the infection, but we have to remove it. We have to learn to do it so that it goes away. Only by learning ourselves will we know how to guard against it when and if tries to come back.
